Tamron presents the new travel megazoom with a focal length of 18-270mm. Tamron thus maintains the world record for zooming in digital SLR lenses1. However, this lens features the new Piezo Drive system with ultrasonic motor, which ensures quiet, precise and extremely fast focusing. In addition, the exclusive anti-vibration technology (VC) has been refined to allow for a more compact design.
The lens convinces with its wide range of uses, with a focal length range that virtually covers all types of photographic situations. Its compact and lightweight construction makes it an ideal travel companion. This lens not only covers every need from wide angle for landscapes to telephoto for bringing distant subjects closer, but also has a certain macro capability with a maximum magnification of 1:3.8, to magnify the little things that can make life more interesting.

Features
The all-in-one zoom is designed for Nikon DX-format F-mount DSLRs and provides a focal length range equivalent to 27-405 mm.
One anomalous partial dispersion (AD) element and two low dispersion (LD) elements are used to greatly reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to achieve high clarity with accurate color rendition.
One hybrid aspherical element and two glass-molded aspherical elements are used to minimize spherical aberrations and distortion throughout the zoom range in order to promote greater sharpness.
BBAR (Broad-Band Anti-Reflection) has been applied to lens elements to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting for greater contrast and color accuracy.
VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization is incorporated into the lens design to minimize the appearance of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting in low-light conditions.
PZD (Piezo Drive) is used to achieve fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus performance to suit both photography and video applications.
Fluorine Coating has been applied to the front lens element to repel water, fingerprints, and smudges for easier cleaning of the lens surface
