The new Automatic Microphone Mixer (AMM) arriving at firmware v1.8 helps engineers manage the levels of multiple microphone inputs, ensuring that each speaker's contribution is heard, but with priority settings to establish an order of precedence . AMM is vital in applications such as conferences, meetings and round tables where a number of microphones are open at the same time, reducing background noise and minimizing the risk of feedback. A new spectrogram tool offers a fast, visual means of hunting down and targets problematic frequencies, helping to eliminate feedback and tame environments with challenging acoustics. Qu Chrome v1.8 firmware also unlocks other monitor mixes, allowing you to switch stereo groups in Mix mode. This requires the maximum number of discrete monitor sends at 9 on the Qu-24 (4 mono, 5 stereo) and 11 on the Qu-32 and Qu-Pac (4 mono, 7 stereo), making them suitable both as compact touring monitors and as dedicated console monitors. The Qu-Pad application offers further improvements with the addition of new commands, views and functions, such as remote control over AMM settings. Qu-Pad is one of a series of control applications that also includes Qu-You for personal monitoring. “With features like touchscreens, motorized faders, multitrack recording over USB, and a wide selection of hardware and software for personal monitoring, Qu has been the trailblazer in compact digital mixing. The new updates make Qu Chrome an unrivaled solution for conferences and monitor mixing," said A&H product manager Nicola Beretta. “These products add to a wide range of live audio and recording applications that Qu already excels at, and of course, existing Qu users will be able to update the firmware to v1.8 Chrome to gain even greater flexibility from their mixer."
