UltraStudio 4K Mini, the new acquisition and playback device for Thunderbolt 3 computers equipped with 12G-SDI connections, HDMI, analog video and audio to allow users to create solutions for editing, color correction, live broadcast graphics, l storage from traditional broadcast decks, and live streaming on the web.

Users will be able to connect Thunderbolt 3 computers to any type of video device to create high-performance editing workstations, archive material from old broadcast decks, send broadcast graphics and stream. Connecting the computer via the Thunderbolt 3 port gives access to a wide variety of video and audio connections in all SD, HD, Ultra HD and 4K DCI formats up to 60 frames per second. It is also compatible with the most used video software for Mac, Windows and Linux, including DaVinci Resolve, Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro.

The new UltraStudio 4K Mini model is a portable Thunderbolt 3 acquisition and playback solution. Equipped with the latest broadcast technology, it includes 12G-SDI, HDMI 2.0 and analog connections. Users will be able to acquire high dynamic range content at 8, 10 and 12 bits with broadcast quality, in all formats up to 4K DCI at 30p. The compact form factor allows installation on racks or work surfaces. The front panel houses control buttons, an LCD display for signal monitoring and configuration, an XLR microphone input and a ¼ ”headphone jack. Space is also provided for a USB port to connect the keyboard and mouse, a Thunderbolt 3 port for connecting and charging the laptop, and an integrated SD card reader for direct access to content.

On set or in post production, UltraStudio offers the same quality of acquisition and reproduction of broadcast and digital cinema for any workflow. It is perfect for editing, color and visual effects, as well as for live capture and set monitoring during production. The 12G-SDI models, compatible with the latest HDR formats, provide color professionals with all the features to perform monitoring on broadcast displays, HDR televisions and digital cinema projectors. UltraStudio also allows you to send the SDI fill and key signal of the RGB graphics directly from the computer to the live production switcher, for a sensational broadcast quality keying.

UltraStudio connects to any video device. All models include SDI inputs and outputs, an HDMI output for monitoring on TV screens and projectors, YUV / NTSC / PAL analog video inputs and a balanced audio input to store from old tape decks. UltraStudio 4K Mini and Extreme offer an additional HDMI input and a balanced analog audio output to connect studio audio monitoring solutions.

Equipped with ultra-fast Thunderbolt 3 ™ technology, UltraStudio uses a single cable to connect to computers with the bandwidth needed to handle high resolution video formats. Thunderbolt guarantees low latency and highly accurate synchronization, giving the best quality capture and reproduction. UltraStudio 4K models include an AC connection, perfect for studio setups, and UltraStudio 4K Mini even provides 45W to power the computer connected via Thunderbolt 3.

With uncompressed video formats, the captured images are a perfect copy of the original, pixel by pixel, ensuring users get the best possible quality. UltraStudio performs keying with flawless green screens, precise compositions and superior color correction. Ultra HD 4K image resolution is 4 times higher than 1080HD.

Equipped with the latest 12G-SDI technology, UltraStudio 4K Extreme 3 and UltraStudio 4K Mini are the most powerful acquisition and reproduction solutions. Thanks to the incredible speed of the 12G-SDI, they acquire and reproduce Ultra HD and 4K 60p content via a single BNC cable. Being multi-rate, 12G-SDI connections are compatible with both existing SD and HD devices and next generation Ultra HD formats up to 2160p60. In addition, the 12G-SDI outputs also allow dual link, perfect for stereoscopic and real-time filling and keying up to 2160p30.

UltraStudio 4K models feature an elegant front panel with color LCD display and control buttons, and are equipped with standard BNC and HDMI video connections. Developed for maximum portability, UltraStudio Mini are ideal for work surfaces or racks. UltraStudio HD Mini is even more compact and takes up only ⅓ of the rack width. Elegant and discreet, it is positioned on the work surface, or three can be placed on the same 1RU rack shelf.

UltraStudio models work in perfect harmony with the complete DaVinci Resolve post-production solution, which users can access immediately by downloading it to Mac, Windows or Linux. From movies to TV series, from music videos to TV commercials and content for YouTube, DaVinci Resolve guarantees a high-performance workflow and unlimited creativity.
